When you hear more, you remember more.
(White belt lesson)
Memory and listening are interrelated. You remember what you hear. And to hear, stop talking and keep your ears open so that you can listen to what your prospects are trying to convey.
As you listen at a sales meeting, withhold your judgment and opinion. Just listen. Resist the temptation to jump in. This is the time to keep your ears and eyes open, and take in the information you’ll need to remember.
Stop Taking Notes. That’s Right.
If you listen with all your energy, you’ll be able to repeat the key elements of the prospects’ needs at the end, even if you haven’t taken a single note. In fact, you’ll be able to listen better, and remember more, if you take no notes at all! Taking notes only distracts you from the goal of hearing everything that’s being said.
Listening is The Secret
If you stay quiet, and you stay open, you’ll find everything you need. Listening is the secret to sales and leadership success. It’s also the key to winning in all other areas of your life. Just listen. Really listen. You’ll improve your memory, and you’ll see positive changes happening everywhere.
